We have entered the crossroads. On Friday Sandra Day O'Conner annouced her retirement, which gives provides Bush with the turning point of his second term. We all know how low his poll numbers are. Many have never seen the country so divided. Bush has the opportunity to do the right thing as opposed to being stubborn and doing what he wants. I predict the political demise of President Bush with this nomination. I see him choosing a hardcore social conservative who will follow in Bush's will. The Democrats will scream but will be unable to stop it. America will take one more step into becoming a nation of the majority. This is where America will slowly realize the harm in pushing your beliefs on people. A slight few will move from Bush's camp and when 2008 rolls around Hilary will be brought back to return America to the 90s (a place few want to be). I see all of these events as very negative. I truly have no faith in our government. Hopefully Bush will prove me wrong.
