To me, the next year for the iPod will be tough. If they don't massively update it they will lose their number one position. Here are my suggestions for what the next ipods should have:

Dream -
Wi-Fi - With iTunes integration to download straight to iPod... please Steve Jobs
Wireless earphones - Two ear buds without wires.

More Likely-
Voice Recorder - Built-in
Hold switch moved to side
FM Transmitter - Built-in
USB 2.0 port - No dock connector

Everyone knows that half the reason iPods are so popular is because they are the cool gadget. This is where the PSP competes with them. The PSP will not become the next portable music player. But, the cool factor will steal iPod sells if things don't change. If they only added Wi-Fi the device would be great. The PSP gets buzz because of the Wi-Fi. Apple could steal their thunder... or just borrow it.

Odeo Update

Turns out that Odeo is almost up and running. The homepage is now updated but every link is an error. We are getting close. ODEO

Odeo

This is the beginning. Odeo is a place where one can stream and download music, podcasts, etc...
But at Odeo you can also create. With a super easy interface Odeo is destined to change the web. People already create their own radio stations, podcasts, and music; but now it is all in one place and for the common man. If Odeo hits big we will see a new media. One in which people will be communicating like never seen before. Or at least that's what the optimistic me says. Sign up to get news of a beta account when it is released some time soon here.
